What Spain's Public Sector Contracting Platform publishes

PLACSP gathers the contracting profiles of Spain's state public sector. What it publishes, how to search it and what Forma covers.

What is PLACSP?

The Plataforma de Contratación del Sector Público is the state portal where Spanish contracting authorities publish their contractor profiles. Article 347 of Law 9/2017 on Public Sector Contracts governs it, and it is searched at contrataciondelestado.es.

What can you find there?

Calls for tender, tender documents, awards and contract formalizations. An award usually records the contracting body, the subject of the contract, the amount and the winning company, identified by its NIF.

Why is following one company hard?

Because the platform is organized by tender and by contracting body, not by company. Finding which contracts a supplier has won means searching file by file or processing the open data yourself.

What does Forma cover?

Official Company Signals gathers awards to companies with a valid Spanish NIF, published directly on PLACSP, into one timeline per company, each linked to its official source. The documentation describes the format of every signal.

Does searching PLACSP cost anything?

No. Searching contrataciondelestado.es is public and free, and the platform also publishes its data as open data.

Which awards does Forma include?

Awards to companies with a valid Spanish tax ID (NIF), from tenders published directly on PLACSP. Awards to individuals and other contracting datasets are not loaded.
